IN-HOUSE

In-house editing and translation (French to English, 1996 to 2000).

I worked as an in-house editor for various departments in the Canadian Federal Government (Ministry of Agriculture, etc.), and as an in-house translator for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Thanks to this background I am adept at rendering translations and editing work using language appropriate for business and government.

FREELANCE

Freelance translation and editing (Japanese-English, French-English, 1996 to present).

The area in which I do most of my work at the moment is in the general business area including marriage certificates or financial reports and in marketing such as online catalogues, though I also work in the technical area, translating for example manuals. I sometimes see medical, environmental, political/historical, and subtitle translations of movies or shows.
